Read pretty far down and saw a lot of comments comparing it to monsters from other games and movies but none comparing it the "The Thing". A few comments mentioned it appears to be multiple organisms with a sort of hive mind, that combined with the biomimicry capabilities is very similar to The Thing.

OK so if this theory stands and it doesn't want to consume to many humans so that it doesn't "kill itself" then why do we mainly just consume flesh of humans. If maybe it had full control over its own biological "mechanisms" so it can choose what to adopt and what to turn then that would make some sort of sense.

It was created from humans taking dna and putting it into that cylinder and humans, being as dumb as they are, didn’t make a good containment cell and underestimated the monsters power and it broke out. That’s my theory.

Nice try, explaining the science behind the creature but forgot to mention The Thing and Lovecraft monsters and our favourite Venom as inspiration. Tentacle based shapeless shape changers are a popular part of the human folklore. Adaptable biological mass is favourite expected evolutionary condition. Someone dreams to be a dream.

There' another cool game called Hidden Deep, that is similar to Carrion being developed by a different studio, it drinks a bit on the source of John Carpenter The Thing too, looking foward for that one already, and for a Carrion Sequel as well 😁

"You can't just add DNA to yourself to become part something else" You have a point, but that doesn't mean we can't do it to other things. That's where the abomination of the cloning science comes in, if you can make a frog egg give birth to a similar(, even extinct,) species of frog through genetic manipulation, imagine what cross breeding combined with these sorts of things could create. Yes, most hybrid creatures die very quickly compared to their pure "parent animals". But, in some cases it's not too much of a loss compared to the full life span, best results with closer related species and subspecies. If we can clone sheep, bring back frogs, and make half-breeds in our labs. I'm sure one day a *very* successful corporation of sorts could one day continue what started with dolly the sheep, and go *much* farther. In conclusion, _maybe_ someone will make unholy abominations, but nothing on a scale like this or Jurassic World hybrids.
